Communication & Confidence Building

Boundary-setting, assertiveness, conflict management and confidence — finding your voice and expressing your needs with clarity.

What mentorship looks like alongside you

Recovery is one of the most profound and life-affirming journeys a person can undertake — yet it can also be deeply challenging, often marked by ambivalence and self-sabotage. Having a mentor alongside you can strengthen your commitment, provide meaningful accountability, and support you in navigating complex emotional and behavioural patterns.

Mentorship complements your wider recovery programme, offering guidance not only within sessions but also during those crucial in-between moments. Support may include in-house meal support, goal setting and achievement, structuring your programme around school or work commitments, establishing healthy boundaries, and — where appropriate — introduction to a suitable 12-step programme.

Many individuals also benefit from focused ego development work — designed to enhance self-esteem, resilience, sense of purpose and body image — alongside skills in boundary-setting, assertiveness, confidence and conflict management. Recovery coaching can further extend into life coaching, supporting daily structure, task management, and effective use of time.

Why choose mirrorED Recovery?

I’m Joanna Paschali, BSc MSc TOPRA Consultant. Having overcome years of a debilitating eating disorder and OCD myself, I bring both lived experience and nearly two decades of professional coaching to walk alongside you in your recovery.

Here’s why people choose to work with me:

  • Lived experience that brings credibility and hope — I’ve walked this path, and I’ll show you change is absolutely possible.
  • Nearly 20 years mentoring adolescents and young adults facing anorexia, bulimia, addiction, OCD and ASD.
  • Collaborative, team-based care — I work alongside your psychiatrist, therapist and nutritionist so your support is joined-up.
  • CQC trained and a Master Practitioner in NLP, with a background spanning the Amy Winehouse Foundation, OCD Action, Theatre Technics, Anorexic Bulimic Care, Mental Health Works Ltd, and The Recovery Centre (Knightsbridge and Edinburgh).
  • A pharmacology and clinical-trial regulation background — patient ethics, neuropharmacology, and paediatric research have shaped my care-led, scientifically grounded approach.
  • Real-time support, not just sessions — meal support, check-ins and skills coaching available 8am to 10pm, seven days a week.

Recovery is not about becoming someone else. It’s about coming home to yourself.
